I call it the Tim Tam Dip

While I was down under...I came across Tim Tam biscuits. It is this delicious cookie made by Arnotts of Australia that is chocolate/cream between 2 chocolate wafer layers, all covered with milk or dark choc.
But the awesome thing about Tim Tam is the way you eat it. In Australia, you call it the Tim Tam Slam...I call it the Tim Tam Dip.

Let me tell you how it's done.

First you will need a packet of Tim Tam biscuits, a nice hot coffee/tea (i prefer coffee) and a love for anything chocolatey!

Ready? Let's start.

1. Take a Tim Tam and nibble off one end off the Tim Tam to reveal the wafer.
2. Flip the Tim Tam and bite the other end off, so that you can see the wafer this end as well.
3. Holding the biscuit with your fingers like you would normally hold a biscuit, dip one end into the coffee/tea and suck.

And thats where it gets messy and yummy at the same time.
The Tim Tam will act like a straw, drawing up the liquid. You will have the taste of melted chocolate and coffee in  your mouth and it is just yummy.
Mind you... the Tim Tam will start melting (the messy part). So just pop the biscuit in your mouth and eat it.

Gooey Delicious! Try it and let me know how it goes. :D
Tip: Refrigerating the Tim Tams prior to use allows longer sucking without the fear of the cholocate coating melting too quickly.

The Thrill of Buying

Are you a shopaholic? I am! Last year was crazy for me. Do you know the saying ‘shop till you drop’?? Well that was me last year! Shopping twice, three times a week...I absolutely NEEDED to buy that pair of jeans...it’s a shade of blue different to the 4 other pair of blue jeans I already own!!! I needed to buy that top..it’s on sale and therefore I am missing out on the opportunity if I don’t buy it. That was me.  It didn’t matter that all those shopping bags lay carelessly on the floor of my bedroom. It didn’t matter that I was not wearing them. It was a rather a question of owning them...the thrill of buying. Sounds familiar???
The thrill of buying often outweighs consideration for the consequences of overspending that follows. If you really think about it, it’s not solely our fault. We are constantly being told to buy. Buying will make us happy. Advertisements, sales...Consumerism...We are encouraged to buy as buying will help boost the economy.

So let’s come back to our share of responsibility in all this. We are perfectly aware of what we are doing when shopping. We know our closets are full, but then we are in the store, we think ...maybe I do need this one blouse or it will come in handy. Some friends I know even hide it from their husbands. They have feelings of guilt.

So what makes the difference between normal shopping, the occasional splurges and shopping addiction?

Let’s work together and come up with some tips to help ourselves.
-          First of all, ask yourself. Do you really need this extra pair of jean? Or this blouse? If you don’t really need it, then don’t buy it. It is as simple as that. Curb that urge to buy just for the sake of buying.
-          Do NOT buy an item just because it is on sale. There will be other sales. There are sales all year long. So resist temptation!
-          Use cash only. Inconvenient?? That’s the point. Debit/credit cards make it so much easier to spend. We need to create this connection in our minds that when we are buying something, we are paying cash. Debit/credit cards do not register in our minds..They are plastic, right??
-          Track down everything you spend on.  When you are a shopaholic like me, you don’t even know the amount you have spent. When you start tracking down your spending, you will be less tempted to buy more and more.
-          Ask for help. Yes, do ask for help. I got lots of shopping buddies and yes, they overspend too. So work together to control your shopping.

Got any more tips? Please share them...

Happy Birthday Arhaan!!

Happy Birthday to my little nephew Arhaan!

He just turned 3...isnt he adorable...

Why blogging you ask?

I never considered blogging as a means to express myself..but it is. It 's not going to be a personal documentation of my life dramas...dont you worry. Instead, I want to write. Simply put, it is a way for me to improve my writing and also to express myself. What I consider to be interesting, what I like and what I think...In doing that, I am looking forward to you, my friends to share your thoughts, your views..
Being a movie buff, shopaholic, food lover, traveller...I hope you will enjoy my little blog.

Happy reading!!!

12 items a lady should keep in her bag

Ladies...am sure you will agree with me on this. I love bags..fashionable handbags, purses, clutches or whatever you might call it. As of late, bags have become a burden. It’s meant to add organisation to your life, instead it’s the complete opposite. You find yourself digging in your handbag through heaps of useless junk – shopping receipts, atm receipts, loose coins..etc. To maximise efficiency, I have come up with a list of essential items that a lady should keep in her handbag.

I got one just like that!
  1. Perfume – It’s good to keep ‘’smelling good’’ all day.
  2. Kleenex – You never know when you might need it.
  3. Breath Freshener – Oh so important. Bad breath is an instant turn-off. You never know who might meet... *wink*
  4. Nail file – Nails can chip or break and then snags on your clothes, ruining them. It’s best having a nail file handy.
  5. Lip Gloss/Balm – Need I say more??? Recently I bought the Occitane Lip Balm with Shea butter. Nice nice...you should try it.
  6. Your phone – that’s an obvious one! One can’t live without a phone.
  7. A pen – It’s always good to have a pen even though hand writing may become obsolete.
  8. Pads – Girls, you get it...There is no need to rush around asking friends at the last minute.
  9. Compact mirror – Of course! Just to check whether you are still looking your gorgeous self.
  10. Cash – even though it’s so much easier using cards, it’s best to have some spare cash handy.
  11. Wallet – Your ID, cards etc.
  12. House keys/car keys- that goes without saying!
What’s in your handbag right now? Is it neat and organized or is it a mix of random items that have been collected over a period of time??

Time to sort out your handbag!!!

One can always dream..

Wouldnt it be great to have a little house like that?? just imagine ...waking up every morning to such a glorious view....

Real Steel starring Hugh Jackman..one of my fave actors..

Set in 2020, boxing is no longer fought by humans. Instead humans have been replaced by robots. Awesome movie....it was the perfect combination of emotions, and action. Hugh Jackman’s performance was outstanding as always. This movie will make you cheer, laugh and be thoroughly entertained. The special effects of the Robots are fantastic and the Robots fight scenes kept me on the edge of my seat...and definitely made me wish that this sport existed...But the real find of this movie is the cute little kid Dakota... Superb acting!!!

FUN! ENTERTAINING! PLENTY OF ACTION!!! Definitely worth watching..
