With the release of the new movie the Dark Knight in July 08 (the sequel to Batman Begins - 2005), it is hard not to think of Heath Ledger, this great Australian actor who died of an overdose of sleeping pills. He was suffering from bouts of insomnia.
Ledger played the role of the Joker in the Dark Knight. To prepare for this role, Ledger lived alone in a hotel room for a month, formulating the character’s posture, voice and psychology and kept a diary in which he recorded the Joker’s thoughts and feelings to guide himself during his performance.
I was quite sad to hear the loss of such a great actor. He made his mark in the movie industry with the following movies: the ten things I hate about you, The patriot, Brokeback Mountain, A Knight’s Tale, Ned Kelly and finally the Dark Knight.
